DON’T YOU THINK YOU NEED TO BALANCE USE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL MEDIA TO NURTURE HUMAN INTERACTION AND RELATIONSHIP !!

Your family, your friends, your loved ones, your colleagues, your doctor, your house help, the stranger you bump into on the street, the stranger you pass without noticing, all these people define you. They are your ECOSYSTEM and you need to nurture them.

With the advancement of technology and social media, most of us have started living in a COCOON. We usually stay detached from other even when we are having lunch or dinner with them. There are enough options available to keep us entertained without any interaction with a real human being. Human interaction is infact now considered a major distraction in our lives that revolve around a virtual world, which we are used to access through our electronic devices. True or false?

I agree that Independence is important but it does not have to mean total isolation from the rest of the world.Let us not forget we are human being and, at the most basic level, need to feel a sense of belonging, acceptance, importance, Security, and mutual respect. Even in the virtual world, we find ourselves surrounded by people who share their tiniest achievement in order to receive some “LIKES”. This is how hungry we are for social approval. It is somewhat sad that instead of depending upon our actual ecosystem for such emotional needs, we have started depending heavily upon virtual acquaintances.

As is quite natural, with time, this leads us towards LONELINESS and even DEPRESSION. Yes, this is a fact which we either don’t accept or give importance. Trust me, Social media cannot replace the needs of actual or real relationships. You need to understand that a strong, healthy relationship can be one of the best support in our life. Good relationships help improve all aspect of our life. It strengthens the mind, health, and our connections with the others.

PRESERVE IT!! Don’t let it go. Because once you let it slip from your hand, it will never come back to you. PL REMEMBER THIS AND START NURTURING YOUR ECOSYSTEM.

    1. Thanks PA for your thoughtful comment. There is no need to substitute social media, you only need to balance its use to pay attention to other pressing things like human interaction and relationship.

  4. Great post on a great importance of emotional interaction. your right about the ‘Likes’ I have even noticed this and the satisfaction is short lived. I have a dinner table rule-NO PHONES at the table. my son refused to follow this rule so I through his mobile in the garden, now everyone whom enters my house for dinner also follows that rule. We sit at the table, talk, eat, laugh like I did when I was young, I believe its a huge etiquette and social experience they’ll learn to grow with.
