If you look at stories of successful people, you will see familiar ingredients: big dreams, adversity, hard work and finally, success, while the proportions may vary, the common thread holding them all together is HOPE. Hope is what ensures that people keep going when everything seems lost. Hope is the cornerstone of all actions and achievements. Hope is what leader instil in his team when the shoulders start to droop.
A student with no hope of passing an exam will never study. ‘why bother’, he will probably tell himself, when i am going to fail anyway’. An overweight person with no hope of becoming slim won’t go on a diet. ‘Why bother’? I am going to be fat anyway – so simple! Hope is a fuel that keeps the engine of life running all the time. When the whole world seems to say, ‘Give up, you cant do it’, hope is the little voice inside us which urges, ‘come on, give it one more shot, you can do it’. But hope alone is never too enough. You need to take responsibility. And you need to take action.
There is a little poem that inspires and motivates me when i feel low. The author is unknown. As this poem has given me strength and inspiration, i thought you would enjoy reading it too. Here it is:
When things go wrong as they sometime will
When the road you are trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but dont quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about.
When he might have won, had he stuck it out:
Don’t give up though the pave seems slow-
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubts.
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near which it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you are a hardest hit
Its when things seem worst that you must not quit
Always keep hope alive. Take charge. Take action. And you must never quit.
