12 MODERN UNWRITTEN CELL PHONE MANNERS &ETIQUETTE

As I say,a knife in the hand of a surgeon, saves the life of somebody, the same knife in the hand of a criminal take away someone’s life.In other words, the use of a particular thing dictates its utility-good or bad.

Likewise, the way we use our mobile phone will decide its good or bad utility.I happen to have a very close observation about the way people use their mobile and would like to put forward my take on it.

1 -TAKING SELFIE: I often read in the news paper people losing their life while taking selfie in a dangerous position at entrance gate  of running train, mountain peak,on seashore rocks during high tide,on the high rise building’s terrace’s edge-list is endless.

Pl don’t risk your life by taking selfie with your mobile in such dangerous positions.

2-WHILE JOGGING:when I go for a evening walk,I find many people busy with their mobile while jogging.Common, you go  for jogging for fitness reasons and if your focus is on your mobile calls,it defeats the very purpose of jogging.

Cant you be without your mobile while jogging? THINK!!

3-FAMILY AND DINNER TIME:I see many family members, including mine, continuously busy with their mobile at a time when they should be talking to each other and relaxing at home.likewise, People use their mobile while taking dinner with family members.Cant you stay away from your mobile on dinning table.Pl enjoy your food.

4-DO NOT TALK & DRIVE:This is a big NO to use your mobile while driving,You don’t only risk your own life but lives of people on the street. If you must drive, drive to a safe area away from the traffic.

5-ROAD CROSSING:I  see many people using their mobile while crossing the road and they meet serious accidents and lose their life.

Life is precious,please value it.

6-BUSINESS MEETINGS:Whether you are attending an important business meeting,on a date,or in a casual setting with friends and family, keep your phone out of sight.Placing your phone on the table or desk send the clear message that they are not your number-one priority.80% of working professionals believe texting during a formal business meeting is highly unacceptable and rude.

7-SILENT SMART PHONE:It is polite and responsible to turn off your mobile before meetings, meals and meaningful  moments-like dates! If you cant  switch off your device, turn it to silent or vibrate.

Your phone is not a replacement for an in-person meeting.

8-EXCEPTIONS:There are exceptions to every rule:Doctors, nurses, first responders, and health providers, those expecting emergency calls, those who have infant with babysitter,or a person with caregiver.

9-EXCUSE ME MOMENT:If accepting an emergency call, excuse yourself as quietly and calmly as possible from the gathering with an apology. For example,”I apologize, however this is urgent,pl excuse me.I will return in a moment”

10-RESPOND PROMPTLY: when you miss a call, text, email, respond in an appropriate and timely manner by apologizing for missing their calls, message. Then respond with substance.

11-WHILE BOARDING TRAIN: I see many people using their mobile while boarding a running train. They slip inside and under the platform and lose their precious life.PL NEVER DO IT!!

12-LAST BUT NOT LEAST: I see people performing puja inside a temple and as their mobile rings, they leave the puja and start talking on mobile INSIDE THE TEMPLE ITSELF.

This is most RUDE AND IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR.you go to temple to pay your tribute to GOD and cant refrain from using it inside the temple. This disturbs other devotees also.

MORAL: CELL PHONE ADDICTION IS REAL;DON’T BE A PART OF THE 80% OF PEOPLE WHO WONT MOVE FIVE FEET AWAY FROM THEIR PHONE.

THINGS CAN ALWAYS WAIT FOR SOME TIME.HEAVEN IS NOT GOING TO FALL.
